I am a composer, producer, musician, songwriter and performer with extensive experience in personal projects (The Son) or collectives (Migala y Emak Bakia), in addition to enjoying helping other musicians shape their albums as an artistic producer.
Commissioned compositions for other people's work, for films, for television or for advertising, are always a challenge and a way to process new ideas and creative demands.
Between 2014 and 2021 I was a professor in the Degree in Musical Creation at the European University of Madrid, in subjects such as "Musical Thinking in Popular Music", "Musical Production", "Creative Production", "Writing, Understanding and Communication of Content about Music", "Creation of Electronic and Electroacoustic Music" or "Musical Thinking and Contemporary Trends".
I'm almost as passionate about thinking and writing about music as I am about composing, producing, or playing it. In that vein, between 2011 and 2016, I ran the blog La columna de aire and the recommended albums section Apuesta Pop for the digital and print versions of El Cultural, respectively. I've also occasionally written about music for other publications (Ahora, Playground, Rolling Stone, Paradigma, etc.).
Alongside my musical work, between 1998 and 2016 I wrote regularly about contemporary art for publications such as El Cultural, as well as for exhibition catalogs. I also wrote numerous articles on film for the magazine La Clave (2001-2008) and collaborated as a cultural critic with the OTR/Europa Press agency (1997-2001).
Between 1998 and 2010, I co-founded and was editor at Acuarela Libros, promoting the Recorridos collection, dedicated to the intersections between the life and work of musicians and their socio-political contexts.
